Parts of the town are very old and linked to historic events. The people are warm and friendly too!

I live in oxfordshire and hope to visit Liverpool to enjoy the "tall ships" Im surprised to find no info: or is it me ? I would like to find suitable camping near-by, have motorhome, also retired. please help e-mail brian.knibbs@btinternet.com
I love Newton-le-Willows because it has a great history with railways and is still remembered as an historical village. When it appeared in Where's Fred though, the name of the town appeared so we didn't need to guess it
HI,
I love Runcorn, especially the Castle, Halton Castle. It is shrouded in history and legend's of secret tunnels which I delved into as a child. I played on her and scrambled over the wall's numerous times, daydreaming of the battles that had gone before.
I have researched some of her past and I feel proud to live in her shade.
Runcorn is historical and also very beautiful. The nature reserve Runcorn Hill was an old Quarry to which the local sandstone was shipped south to build the Houses of Parliment and Churches such as Coventry Cathedral
Not bad eh?
One of my favourite places to visit is Eastham country park where you can see all sorts of wildlife amongst the bluebells and the views across the mersey river are exceptional. The area is also steeped in local history having formerly been a busy ferry terminal ferrying passengers to and from liverpool and the surrounding areas.
Just a brief note of thanks to Tony Morris and to say how refreshing I thought it was to see Tony's favourite place featured on Granada reports last week. Especially, how honest and unassuming Tony is and open enough to give viewers a little insight into his personal and family life. Well done Tony!
Kind regards
